Skippy Central
Skippy Central:

I was emailed, more than once, the list of "213 things Skippy can no longer do in the US Army." Some were suggesting I wrote the list, some suggested my lost identical twin wrote it. I liked it, and was inspired to adapt the list, the idea of the list, to a few more venues. The first, and easiest, was to imagine Skippy as a Dwarf Fighter in a D&D campaign. Almost as easy, and as much fun, was as an enlisted man on the USS Enterprise of Star Trek fame. (TNG, to be exact). Participation on a few religion-related discussion boards led to the creation of Things Reverend Skippy can no longer do at the Pulpit. Then, a bit closer to home, with a wife teaching 9th grade, was Professor Skippy and the things he can’t do in the high school…or things the wife-person really, really WANTS to do in the high school. Finally, it was just TOO close to home to try to come up with Skippy as a Submariner because I’ve been lectured a time or two about shooting pencils out of my .45 or kidnapping the blue-nose committee.

One summer, all three of my kids attended Scout Camp. I noticed that at least one of the items on the prohibited list had to be the result of the law: 'rules are written in blood.' As in, you don't usually make a rule about something until after someone tries it...and gets hurt. As kind of a mutant 'skippy' list, I've imagined the process a Scout Camp might go through to keep on top of their teen and pre-teen attendees.
My kids suggested a seasonal Skippy Claus list for Christmas Eve Skippy evolutions. Work in progress.

Watch this space. More may be coming. And suggestions/requests are always welcome.

Latest Update:
October, 2004
Skippy Claus added.

The original 'Skippy' has seen my site, and likes my efforts. (see the actual comments here). He has asked that i remove the Skippisms that are just copied or reworded from his list, and offered to link to my page from his.
Hmmmm. Asking a class clown to do something that will result in a wider readership. What a hard decision...
Today, I started deleting the more blatantly plagiarised material

Latest Update:
1 November, 2004
Added more Skippy Claus, Rev Skippy, Prof Skippy, Scout, Trek and Dwarf skippisms.<
Trimmed down Dwarf Skippy to 213 things, so as to provide an upper limit (based on 213 things skippy), or i'd never stop.
During the Thanksgiving Holiday, my family sat around a table at Patrick’s, destroyed a meal of 50 buffalo wings, and passed the time with another Skippy list. The kids suggested a superhero Skippy, and suggested many, many skippisms. I have thrown a couple of them out, but for the most part, the list of “Things ‘Skippy’ can’t to do in Spandex” is the product of me, my three kids, and my wife, and a half hour of time on our hands.
The kidlets continue to add to the list.

Also, added to Trek, Rev, Prof and Santa Skippy.

December updates:
Trek, Santa, Super, Professor and Reverend skippisms.

2005

Mad Science Skippy.
Someone on the Kenzer Company forum said "Okay, so after seeing the excellent "Things Skippy's not allowed to do in the Dungeon" list on the boards here and perusing the other Skippy lists out there, a friend and I decided to try our hand at one of our own. Hope you enjoy it."
I did enjoy it, very much, so i offered to host it here.

2006 update. An online friend, known to investigators only as 'Elfled,' was inspired by workplace boredom, and coworker shock, to compile her own list of skippy-like observations concerning the Federal Office working environment. Her full name, and the full list, are withheld for now, due to the nature of the Federal Office working environment. This list is more like the original Skippy list, a product of real people who don't play by the rules, rather than my fantasy lists. Hope you enjoy. I laughed at a couple until i couldn't breathe.
